Designed for Children Aged 7+ Each Celebration of the Word leads children to Jesus. We share the Gospel, wonder about its meaning, enter into prayer and sing
Each episode is an awe-inspiring celebration of the Word focused upon the Sunday Gospel. We a create new videos each week, tracking with the Liturgical Calendar. Every video follows the ‘Gather, Word, Response and Mission’ structure recommended in the CBCEW Prayer and Liturgy Directory. We are also delighted to be endorsed and recommended by the Scottish Catholic Education Service as an official prayer resource.
Celebrations of the Word
Ep19: Follow Me: Jesus Calls THe Fishermen
In the Gospel, Jesus is on the look out for his first followers. He chooses a group of fishermen to be his disciples. We reflect upon how the words of scripture are alive and active, therefore, Jesus is inviting us to follow him too. In our prayer time, we picture Jesus in front of us, calling to our hearts. We then sing the hymn ‘Follow Me, Follow Me,’ with Sr Chiara.
Ep18: Behold Jesus in the EUcharist
In the Gospel, St John the Baptist sees Jesus coming towards him and says ‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’ Sr Therese leads a very special reflection whilst sat beside Jesus, exposed in the Blessed Sacrament. She explains how we can behold Jesus in the Eucharist and meet him in a deeply personal way. We pray this episode helps children to powerfully encounter Jesus and welcomes them into the beauty and miracle of the Holy Eucharist.
Ep17: the Baptism of the Lord
The Baptism of the Lord is a feast day in the Church and the moment we remember when Jesus received baptism from John. We invite children into the awe and wonder of this moment and to reflect upon the words of God the Father, spoken over Jesus. God loves each one of us as his children and we can know that he is always pleased with who we are. We take this truth into our guided prayer time and then sing the hymn ‘God’s Spirit is in My Heart.’
Ep16: the Epiphany of the Lord
We are celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord. As we listen to the Epiphany Gospel, we are invited to journey with the Wise Men from the East as they follow the star to Bethlehem. At the end of their journey, they discover the greatest treasure of all, Jesus, the King of Kings who has come for all people. We pray by the manger together and then sing the Epiphany hymn 'We Three Kings of Orient Are.'
