The Meaning of Lent

Gospel: Mark 1:12-15

Song: Be Still (For the Presence of the Lord)

As we begin the Season of Lent, we hear the Gospel account of Jesus entering the wilderness. He stays there for forty days and is tempted by Satan. Lent is a time of preparation. We ready ourselves for Holy Week and Easter. Greg explains that Lent is also a time for us to turn to face Jesus. Jesus invites us to pray, fast and give during Lent. We take a closer look at how and why we do these things. We move into a quiet time of prayer and then join Sr Chiara as she sings the hymn ‘Be Still.’
