The Third Sunday of Advent is Gaudete Sunday. Guadete means ‘Rejoice’ and joy is the theme for this celebration. In the Gospel, we hear how St John the Baptist asked his friends to go to Jesus and confirm that he was the Messiah. We reflect upon the great joy John must have felt when he understood that Jesus the Saviour had arrived. We pray for the same joy of Jesus to fill our hearts and then sing the Advent hymn ‘Gabriel’s Message’ with Sr Chiara.
